Tikvah Tayuun, Crystal - Mateus

appearance.        Tikvah is a muscular, short Miqo'te. Her short, fluffy black curls frame her round face. She has thick brows and long lashes, and visible body hair curls over the scars on her arms, legs, and stomach. Her tail is shaven, styled like a lion's. She's often wearing comfortable adventurer's clothes, button-ups and scarves.      persona.           Tikvah is dependable and friendly. She can be foolhardy and stubborn, but her heart is always in the right place. She may be a little too friendly, unfortunately, which some people can find grating. Despite her bright and cheerful disposition, it isn't uncommon to catch her with a far-off look in her eye.    abilities.         Tikvah trained many years with the Gladiator's Guild in Ul'dah, and was quite the skilled swordswoman in her time on the Bloodsands. Though she's since retired, her preferred weapon remains a sword and shield. This is, however, just preference - she's no stranger to the use of improvised weapons or unarmed combat, and carries a collection of blades on her at all times. Aside from this, she's extremely skilled with animals and plants, and is quite handy!

DZ.       21+.       They/he.       US-ET.

☾ Diamond in the Sky... Tikvah was, some years ago, a renowned fighter on the Bloodsands - a Black Cat no one wanted to cross their path. Skilled with a myriad of weapons and decent in hand-to-hand combat, Tikvah's versatile toolkit and modesty earned her a cult following. After a career-ending injury during a routine match, however, Tikvah hung up her obsidian armor and all but disappeared from the Gladiator's guild...☾ Like Shiny Coins... She often finds herself in the right place at the right time - that's how she thinks of it, anyhow. Blessed with a bounty of "luck," Tikvah is known to survive seemingly insurmountable odds. No job is too harrowing for this lucky cat.☾ On her Ninth Life... Whether it's the scars on her face or the slight limp to her gait, she has clearly survived some harrowing ordeals. She might have a story or three to share, if you've got a warm meal or cold drink to trade.

☾ Traveler in the Dark... Tikvah, like many adventurers, has traveled all across the realm, even crossed the salt a time or two. Whether contracted to another paying client, or searching for her next meal ticket, she's bound to have crossed paths with many who share her line of work.☾ Forest for the Trees... To call the Tayuun family tree massive would be an understatement, and each branch is wildly different from the last. Her family, one prong of the Great Bear clan, was known for being rather unorthodox; what with her parents' arrangements, the rumours about their oldest daughter, and their two youngest leaving for the desert... Still, you might recognize a cousin when you see one!☾ If the Creek don't Rise... Tikvah wears her Turali heritage on her sleeve, twang and all. She was never going to be the 'respectable' twin, and sees no reason to hide it for the sake of some few xenophobic elites' comfort.

Rhaya'lo Tayuun, Crystal - Mateus

Brother         Tikvah's known Rhaya'lo his entire life- what with her being the older twin and all. He's languid and humourous, the brain to her brawn, and the subject of her anxieties. She checks in with him regularly during her travels, and will never pass up an opportunity to share an embarrassing story or two.

☾    Always busy with all that important work'a his...

G'dhezi Ditreinu, Crystal - Mateus

Friend         A sentence or two detailing the nature of her relationship with the other person. This section isn't intended to be a thorough overview, just a quick glance's worth of information.

☾    Let's say some stuff here about this bond.

1       Tikvah is an afro-indigenous, disabled trans woman; I don't expect absolute perfection in how people interact with and talk about her OOC or, especially, IC - just understand that I may voice discomfort with certain comments or jokes, and that I expect that discomfort to be taken seriously. Generally, please just be respectful towards both muse and mun. If there are going to be IC problems with ableism, transphobia, etc., please just talk to me OOC about it first.    2         OOC communication is a must. I don't expect to be given an entire thread or plot ahead of time, but if you're going to try to mutilate my character it would be pretty cool to get a heads up first. The story would be more satisfying if we're both on board, after all!    3         18+ OOC please. I'm a grown adult, and would rather RP with other grown adults. If your character is younger than about 20, please give me a heads up. Tikvah will respond differently to a teenager than she would to another adult, just like you or I would in real life.

4         Like her brother, I'm interested in exploring grief as a theme with Tikvah. While she's more gregarious than her brother, keep in mind she may also be self-destructive and impulsive. Anyone looking for a romantic or deeply intimate relationship with her may encounter some hardship, as she keeps a safe distance. Slow-burn is the word, baby!    5         I am a very "play to find out what happens" kind of person - so if you want to know more about Tikvah than what's on this carrd, you'll have to actually talk to her! Or maybe you could connect with someone she has a close bond with...    6         I'm generally pretty chill - just note that I may not be as available as others might be. I've got a full time job, cats, a wife, hobbies, etc.. I'm usually available on Friday evenings and Saturdays for sure, any other time depends on my schedule and energy level. If you're interested in LT RP, let me know so we can keep in better contact!
